Things and letters...
[posted at 07:36 GMT]

Reading, teaching, painting living room and trying to organize back to every day life. All those and more are the daily things which keeps me busy.
I have head full of that experiment with jelly on the filter. I have plan to extend in that direction a bit more and try some more different modifications.
I also moved all my new images from Japan to my NAS and going through. There is series of images I shoot in the middle of the night with high ISO at the street with cold light. They look rather interesting.

Also another issue I like to resolve, come back to printing. I have very few prints ready in my shop for sale and it happens that I need to print on request that takes some extra time. I also had habit to print every new image I was proud of and let it see some friends. I would love to come back to that again.

So all these is going on I guess also some more. Some time ago I have read book about Dezo Ursiny, those where actually his letters to a woman of his heart. Now I am reading letters from Vincent van Gogh. I was playing with idea to write similar to this blog, there is only one, but huge difference. This blog and I guess every blog is so unpersonal, I have no idea to who I am writing...

Interesting photos
[posted at 14:19 GMT]

It is now almost two years I have started to putting links to photographs I like from other artist. I have not received any feedback in all those two years, if any of you like it or not. Now there is 94 images listed. 20th of November 2006 I have started. Maybe I can find next six in next week to have nice one hundred at the second anniversary. And than I may reconsider...

Anyway let me know if you ever look at those images...

  • Marino Thorlacius - Time - Very inspiring work. Deep and emotional.
  • Night-Flight by Meg Birnbaum - Nice surreal. Tell me what do you see, what do you feel.
  • Susan B: so close, but yet so far... - Excellent, I love her work, just take a look!
  • Joannès CEYRAT - Excellent black and white images, flash based so can not link particular image, but all images there are excellent and worst to look at.
  • ELECTROSPHERE Photoblog // untitled479 - Play of shallow DOF with incredibly pleasing tonal scale of these black and white photos bring that tender and lyric feeling in you on top!
  • Donnie Mackay: photo hebrides - I can not link to the exact image on his site as they are in flash, but all of the images there are worst to look. I like them so much I bought few ;-)
  • Blot Of Light : Footprints - Simple but powerful street image. Light is painting unexpected shapes and people walk by.
  • Takaaki Okada: Photographs. - Excellent capture of mood and feelings. Incredible image, you can spend hours to look at it. This is whta I call photography!
  • JEAN-CLAUDE BELEGOU VISAGES - This is older work of JEAN-CLAUDE BELEGOU, but I like it very much. Look at this expressive black and white work, which reminds me almost Drtikol work with less nude and more personal view.
  • Wink » THE SPACE BETWEEN - Absolutely marvelous image from Wink. Excellent tone, light and idea. This is the image kind of surreal view. This is what I really like! Look here and tell me what do you think.

[posted at 05:11 GMT]

Tomorrow is my last day in Japan, morning I leave and I'll fly back to Europe. I had a wonderful time here, met a lot of interesting people and saw a nice places. Not sure why, but I feel this is for quite some years my last visit in Japan. I hope I will come back, but one never knows.

Japan Exposures
[posted at 05:25 GMT]

At the end of the last week new web sites started up, Japan Exposures with subtitle "A Personal introduction to the Japanese Photography". This new web site is creation of Dirk Roesler and Kurt Easterwood. Site is focusing to make Japanese Photography more accessible to the people outside of Japan. There is a lot happening in Japanese photography and site brings interesting articles, reviews, books and photographs as well as other information to make all these accessible to us, not mastering Japanese language.
Part of this web site is also popular Megaperls shop with all Japanese photography products. Site is offering also other type of services. As example I can mention Equipment Sourcing, Lens Modification for Leica mount, Camera Spare Parts and much more.

Take a look subscribe to RSS feeds and keep eye on great source of information from photography country where The Sun is rising.
