I have first roll finished using my new Nikon F100. Isn't it good feeling?
Yes it is incredible good feeling. Viewfinder feels like on old good manual
focus camera, build is same. So you really feel like you have trustable
piece of equipment in your hand. F80 did feel little toys, not much and not
from the first time, but more and more I was using it it has created that
feeling. F100 is little bigger and little heavier, but, surprisingly it
adds to the positive feeling.
What I like very much is that I can use lens for setting up of aperture!
It is again like in old good days when you use both hands. The modern auto
focus camera put all controls in your right hand and that makes it too much
in my view. Now I can use left hand for aperture setting and stabilizing
camera as well. As I do not use zooms these are only two actions my left
hand is doing. I am using AF-ON button for focusing and AE-L button for
Auto Exposure lock. Shutter release is used only for shutter. I also like
controlling exposure compensation by main dial on back of the camera
without need for pushing any additional button.
